From the Board

Xmas is fast approaching and the club is getting ready to welcome the big man (Santa....not Blacky)

The Xmas Santa pub crawl is 14th December. All welcome.

Thanks to Jon Routledge and John Armstrong who are arranging a Santa breakfast for the MJS section.

We would like to thank everyone who contributed to the food appeal. Donations were given to Everton in the Community who will, in turn, make up parcels for Military Veterans for Xmas.

We continue to look for volunteers to form a Centenary Committee, duties will involve organising different events for the clubs 100th anniversary celebrations. If you are interested please email chair@ormskirkrugby.co.uk

From the Ladies

We’ve had a huge increase in players for the Ladies which has been absolutely amazing for our rebuild. We’ve consistently been able to put out a full 23 and have had large numbers at training. We are so proud of all our new ladies that have joined us this season, they have picked up the game so quickly and always put in 100% effort.

Our scores in no way reflect just how hard our Ladies are working at the moment and we look forward to our match this Sunday away at Oldershaw

From the Seniors

Ormskirk Seniors have seen some recent success, showcasing a winning formula both on and off the field. At the heart of their performances lies discipline, hard work and a relentless commitment to teamwork.

Leadership from the coaching staff has also played a vital role, blending innovative tactics with the fundamentals of open rugby.

But it’s not just about talent. The team’s resilience and camaraderie have been pivotal, as they’ve battled through adversity, bouncing back from tough matches and games that got away.

With a winning mindset and a hunger for success, is setting the standard for excellence in rugby.

Next up Burnley at home going for 3 in a row. Join us at Green lane 7th December 1415hrs KO.

There will be an overs/unders game on Friday 27th, more details to follow on socials.

From the Bar

As we enter the festive period we’ll be serving a series of Winter Warmers at weekends starting on 7th December with Mulled Wine and Mince Pies.

In addition we’ll have a ‘Happy Hour’ (or 2!) every Saturday afternoon in December from 3-5pm featuring different drinks and starting on 7th with discounts on all lagers. The fire will be lit and the decorations are up so enjoy the festive spirit!

Please note that the club will close at 5pm on Saturday 28th for a private function.

Throwback

The year that Ormskirk U15 won the national final at Twickenham (2006/07) and then toured South Africa to celebrate! Coached by the late, great Donny Sutherland. Many of the lads in the picture went on to represent Ormskirk at Senior Level.
