Ormskirk RUFC

Just for clarity, last week officials at the RFU contacted a number of departments within Rugby Union England including Championship Clubs, the Referees Union, grass roots clubs and others, calling for a Special General Meeting of the RFU. 

I believe the final straw was the the publication of Annual Report (2023/24), which included the Remuneration Committee report that highlighted the renumeration of the senior leadership within the RFU. 

A number of other points raised within the motion including financial loss of circa 130mil+ and lack of transparency from within the RFU leadership. 

Derek Ward and I discussed this at length and signed it on behalf of our club, joining over 200 other signatories. 

Hopefully, this will be a driving force for much needed change within our game. 

We can already see that it's prompted Bill Beaumont to get out to clubs to speak to people.
