Dear Member,

We’ve had a great end of season celebration, with the Club hosting a very successful Mini & Junior award ceremony. Thanks to Helen Charnley, under 13 coach and under 15 manager and her associates for making this happen.

On the same day the Seniors ladies and mens players, combined with the junior colts, held a very successful presentation night at Lost & Found in Ormskirk. Thanks to our Director of Rugby, Neil Habberfield, for organising this fantastic event, and well done to all the winners.

The Ormskirk Beer and Sevens festival, which will include an Ormskirk Vets v Orrell Old boys game (noon KO) will be on Saturday 15th June. We will also be open on the Friday for the opening Euros game - Germany vs Scotland - so come down for early samples of the festival beer! If you can spare any time over this weekend to volunteer, either pulling pints, selling tokens, or anything at all, please email comms@ormskirkrugby.co.uk with your availability, or message Mark Slater directly on 07802452665.

The board have provisionally agreed a date for the 2024 AGM on Friday 28th June 2024 at 19.30. More detail on Board roles etc will be available via MailChimp, social media, and the website shortly. You can view last years minutes here. Please save the date!

I am sad to inform you that Mike Dodd, former team captain and backrower, passed away aged 79, on Thursday 2/5/24, due to heart related issues and a chest infection. RIP Mike. Mike's funeral will be on Tuesday 28/5/24 @ 11am at Southport Crematorium, and afterward at the Richmond in Kew at noon for a celebration of Mike’s life. No need for suits and black ties, but his son Matt thinks Club ties would be very appropriate. Matt also asked us to bring your stories. If you can’t make the Crematorium just come to the Richmond Pub in Kew. Donations to Queenscourt Hospice.

The May 200 Club draw was won by Gareth Prytherch, ex 1st XV captain and current minis age group coach.
