From the Board
We are saddened to announce the passing of Kenneth D.J. Parry who passed away at the age of 87. Kenneth was a hard tackling, no nonsense second row and served as club Secretary in the late 60's. Our thoughts are with Kenneth's family and friends at this time.
The club is starting to look towards the centenary celebrations and are looking for people from all sections of the club to form a Centenary Committee, to guide us through the season of celebrations. If you wish to volunteer please email chair@ormskirkrugby.co.uk

The future of Ormskirk Rugby certainly looks bright, but the Chairman is upset over the lack of Welsh qualified players at the club.
James Harper and Ethan Caine from Sale will be down at training on Wednesday, providing coaching tips for the minis and juniors, which should be a fantastic experience. Thanks to DoR Alex Lambie for coordinating.
From the Ladies
The ladies have continued working hard on the playing and training field.
Sunday 3rd November saw a visit from Moore ladies to Green Lane with the hosts having a squad of 20 strong. A real positive step in the right direction.
From the Seniors
We introduced our Player of the Month award, recognising someone who not only consistently plays well but displays the Core Values that underpin our club. This month it was awarded to Prop Matt Sutcliffe. Matt burst onto the scene with his pizza eating skills during the trip to IOM. Matt has settled in well with the squad since signing from Garstang, and encourages others to get involved at Ormskirk. Matt also gets on with his work on the pitch and leads by example. Well done Matty!
From the Bar
Most of the Autumn Series matches are being shown at the club this month.
On Friday 8th we’re doing a free half time curry for everyone at the Ireland v All Blacks game.
This will be followed by a Chinese meal with the social night on Saturday 9th when England play Australia in the afternoon. There will be offers on the bar for both these events.
Socials Calendar: https://ormskirkrugby.rfu.club/information/social-calendar
For those who like a good pint of cask ale, we’ve got two beauties this month. Oracle from the Salopian brewery followed by Loweswater Gold; two excellent beers, at good prices too!
Membership cards are available behind the bar, so if you haven't already done so, please pick yours up when you are next in. Reminder that membership gets you 10% off alcoholic drinks!
Survey Results
You may remember we asked for feedback on our social efforts recently, so we would like to provide a little feedback on that where we can:
We will continue/do more: informal socials, include family friendly ones with early start times, have bar offers, show live sports, do community events, live look into live music after games, look into a social club, host theme nights, have seminars, and be open when fields are in use.
To address one of the work-ons, we would get Stella Unfiltered but it’s unfortunately outside of the Heineken brand we are contracted to. Hopefully everyone is enjoying the Pineapple Cider instead!
And thank you for recognising the hard-work that goes into this wonderful little club we have.
